This is an African catfish that originally comes from Lake Tanganyika but the fish we are offering for sale are tank raised our family run hatchery. Being a rift lake fish they prefer a pH of 7.8-9.0 and a temperature of 74-84 degrees. We bred ours in water that is a pH of 7.2 and a temperature of 78 degrees so they are adaptable various water conditions. While they are omnivores their diet leans more on the meaty side. They will feed on dry foods including spirulina flake or pellets but should also be fed frozen foods such as bloodworms and mysis shrimp. They reach an adult size of almost 6" long.
